If you have a big belly and you wonder how to get rid of your belly fat, there are a couple of things you can do.
First of all you need to know that the most important thing to do is to burn more calories than you eat.
Easier said than done.
Why? Because most people do not know how many calories their food has.
So, rule number one: Count calories.
Yes, I know. Nobody likes it. But you need to get a feeling for the food you eat every day. I’m pretty sure it will astound you how many calories your favorite food actually has. If you’re aware of that, I bet you will think twice whether you’re going to eat that as often as you do right now.
What about beverages?
Beverages can contain a lot of sugar and sugar has a lot of calories. Ergo, avoid sugary drinks. Or at least don’t drink them every day.
When it comes to discipline always remember, it is easier not to eat chocolate at all than to eat just one piece.

Now all you have to do is to burn more calories than you take in. That’s pretty much it.
Sounds easy? Well, it’s not. Because eating or drinking calories is way easier than burning them. And the tasty things tend to have the most calories.
It’s a challenge and everyday it starts anew. It is up to you if you have the discipline to win or if you just lose.
Don’t give up too soon, after a while it gets easier.
So, what can you do?
Try to burn more calories than before.
- Walk more
- Ride your bike
- Use stairs instead of the escalator or the lift
Limit your calorie intake.
- Eat this instead of that, because it contains less calories
- Instead of drinking coke every day, only drink it on the weekends. Better: don’t drink sugary beverages at all
- Ask yourself if you need a snack right now, because you are hungry or just bored
- Stop overeating
- Drink a glass of water before you eat
Sport is a great way to burn more calories.
What you need to do is to get bigger muscles. Because the more muscles you have, the more calories you burn. Even if you are sitting on the couch watching Netflix.
